Pricing

One number.

Microhired charges 1% of each bill it collects, taken off the top before the split and printed on the bill where every party can see it. Nothing else.

1%

of each bill collected — charged only when money actually moves.

What you don't pay

  • No monthly subscription
  • No setup fee
  • No per-seat or per-party fee
  • No fee to receive a payout
  • No fee to track income streams
  • No fee on deals that never move money

The honest footnote

Stripe's standard payment-processing fees also apply to each collected bill — ACH is markedly cheaper than card, which is why bills default to ACH. Both fee lines come out of the collected amount before the split, and both appear on the bill. There is no fee we collect that the parties can't see.

A worked example, as your ledger would print it

LineAmount
Bill collected Acme onboarding — June (paid by ACH) $9,830.00
Stripe processing fee ACH, 0.8% capped at $5 −$5.00
Platform fee 1% of gross, shown on the bill −$98.30
Split — Lead consultant 60% $5,836.02
Split — Delivery partner 30% $2,918.01
Split — You 10% $972.67

Splits apply to the amount actually received, net of both fee lines. Largest-remainder arithmetic guarantees the cents always sum to the total: $5,836.02 + $2,918.01 + $972.67 = $9,726.70, to the cent.

Compared to doing it by hand

The spreadsheet way

  • The lead invoices the client, then everyone invoices the lead.
  • Splits live in a spreadsheet one person controls.
  • Your cut arrives when someone remembers, minus wire fees.
  • The "agreement" is a Slack thread from March.

The ledger way

  • One bill to the client; every share disburses on settlement.
  • Splits are locked in an agreement every party signed.
  • Your cut lands in your bank without a reminder email.
  • The agreement is versioned, fingerprinted, and printable.

Pricing questions

Who pays the fee?

The deal does: the fee comes off the top of each collected bill before the split, so every party bears it in proportion to their share — and every party sees the same fee line.

What happens on a refund or dispute?

Reversals claw back proportionally from everyone who was paid out, per the agreement. We don't keep the platform fee on money that goes back.

Is tracking really free?

Yes. Streams, deals, and agreements cost nothing. The fee exists only when a bill is collected and disbursed through Microhired.

Will the price change?

The fee for a bill is the fee shown when the bill is sent. If the platform rate ever changes, it applies to future bills only — never retroactively.

Free until money moves.
